There will be a reception held in their honor on Friday, May 2, 2003 at the Orem Suncrest 4th Ward at 200 N. 800 W. from 6-9 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend. Rebecca graduated from Sunset High School and Seminary in Portland, OR. She served an LDS Mission to the Dominican Republic. She graduated with a B.S. from UVSC in Elementary Education. Daniel graduated from Mountain View High School and Seminary. He served an LDS Mission in Porto Alegre So., Brazil. He is currently cur-rently in the Masters program pro-gram in Geology at Brigham Young University. The couple will live in Provo. Corey Chalmers, daughter daugh-ter of Rob and Kelly Chalmers, will marry David Lee Johnson, son of Kris and Nancy Johnson, in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple Saturday, May 3. A luau celebration will follow the ceremony. Corey graduated from Utah Valley State College in business this spring and works for State Farm Insurance. Dave recently returned from a mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil and will continue his education at UVSC. The couple will live in Provo. SCERA auditions for Vocal Dance "West Side Story" SCERA announces auditions audi-tions for its upcoming summer sum-mer production of the dance musical "West Side Story" directed by Robinne Booth, and playing August 6-16 (excluding Tuesday and Sundays), 2003 at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theater in Orem. Vocal auditions for those interested in lead and supporting sup-porting roles will be held room B3 of SCERA Center (745 South State Street, Orem) on Thursday May 15 from 7-10 PM. Men and women ages 16 and older should be prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style Broadway-style song. An accompanist or boom box will be provided. All roles are available. Dance auditions will be held in Room Bl on Friday, May 16 at 7:00 PM. Men and women interested in the dance ensemble do not need to do a vocal audition, but should come dressed to learn a short piece of jazz-style choreography. cho-reography. The choir has toured throughout the West, Hawaiian the Caribbean. Saturday, May 31- The BYU-IDAHO Faculty Quar of Edward Ashton, violin; Monte Belknap, violin; Kt Call,' Viola; and Robert Tueller, cello, will pet: Beethoven's String Quartet in B-flat major, op. 18. do and Brahms' String Quartet in A minor, op. 51, no.2. ri T" n n n a rb Collene Collins Smith and Collette Tregeagle will present the new Musical Production, "Movies In Motion" May 2 and May 3, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Timpview High School Auditorium. This year marks the 62nd year for the school's annual production which features over 400 performers perform-ers each year, totaling over 22,000 students through the decades. All former students stu-dents and all former Utah Valley Opera performers are invited to attend this year's production. Featured in this year's production will be Colleen's daughter, Gina Hatch, a Walt Disney World dancer and Radio City Rockette, along with Colleen's son, Ty Smith, a nation-wide performer. They will perform per-form a new pas de deux, "Sparticus" and a special tribute to America, "Stars and Stripes". Colleen's son Craig Smith will be visiting from Dallas, Texas, and Colleen's daughter, Collette, will CO-Direct. To complete the family reunion, 14 of Colleen's grandchildren will appear in this year's production, which will be over 350 Utah Valley singers and dancers from the school. James Penrod, former student of Mrs. Smith and Chairman of UCI Dance Department, will be honored hon-ored at the production. Mr. Penrod was named 2002 Artist-Scholar by the National Dance Association of America, and paid special tribute to Mrs. Smith as his first instructor. instruc-tor. Along with Mr. Penrod, many students from Provo, Utah have been named Professors of Dance in colleges col-leges across the nation. Also Colleen is responsible for training many professional profes-sional dancers, teachers, and choreographers. David J. Wright of Denver, Colorado, is also a featured singer. Costume designs are under the direction of Collette Tregeagle, Janae and Philip Lamb, Claudia Vanisi, and Jill Taylor. Musical Director is Carolyn Thompson Lee, and Sound . Engineer W. Kay Collins.
