Dinner was served at a long table centered with a bowl of roses. Mrs. Mildred Sinclair received high i-core prize for bridge and Mrs. Sue Merrill the low score. LARGE CROWD ATTENDS COMMUNITY PROM' The Community Prom sponsored by the leaders of Franklin Stake Spiscial Interest Group of the MIA held last Tuesday evening was at-euded at-euded by a large crowd. Weldon Nash was master of ceremonies and directed in dancing old time fiances as w-ell as the newer ones. Punch and Hallowe'en candies were served. In honor of Mrs. Hawkes, Mrs. Olva Keller and Miss Pearl Lind-.-;ey entertained at a miscellaneous shower on Wednesday, at the Keller Kel-ler home. A luncheon carried out in Hallowe'en motifs was nerved :o twenty lady friends. The bride-elect bride-elect received many beautiful gifts. CO-HOSTESSES AT BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Leo Butters and Mrs. Jesse Packard were co-ho.-.tesses at a delightful bridge party last Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at the Club cafe. A luncheon was served at 1:30 with Hallowe'en motifs designating places for twenty-two guests. A bowl of vari-colored chrysanthemums chrysanthe-mums centered the long table. At bridge, score prices were awarded to Mrs. Llwellyn Jenkins, Mrs. George Egbert and Mrs. Alvin Carlson. Swainston, and a tribute to Jennie Jen-nie Weaver by Hattie Wallgren. Discussion were led by Ella Hull and Syrena Lowe with Chaplain Hattie Wallgren making the assignments as-signments of work for the year and welcoming the new- members of the board. The new members are Lettie Condie, secretary; Ray Hawkes, historian; Lola Sant, Delia Chadwick and Annie Merrill, aids; and Emma Bingham, organist. Nancy Jones offered the closing prayer. Refreshments were served by Hattie Wallgren, Ella Hull and Alice Petterborg. Yellow chrysanthemums formed the centerpiece for the luncheon tables. Mrs. Abner Lar- lief Society will sponsor a lecture of the skin, hair, nails, and eyes given by Mrs. Clara Howard. The remainder of the time will be devoted to exchanging ideas for Christmas presents and the sale of embroidered pillow cases, dresser sets, dishes, towels, aprons, and quilts. HENRY RAWLINGS. son received high score. ELDER RETURNS FROM SWEDEN MISSION Elder Darold Johnson returned Monday evening after a two year's absence as a missionary. Originally he labored in Sweden but was called to the United' States a year ago and has since labored in the Northern States mission. On his return home he called on these former Preston people: At Chicago he visited Miss Olwyn Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cutler, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Newell Hart, at Spring, field, 111., he visited Elder Reed Larson and made an over-night call at Montrose, Colo., with Mr. ihd Mrs. James Bullock. ENTERTAINS NEWLYWEDS AT RECEPTION Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Rasmussen recently entertained at a wedding reception in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Allbracht of Logan, Mrs. All-brecht All-brecht was formerly Miss Eveleen Rasmussen. The marriage took place October 10, in the Logan temple. The reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aerial Hawkes, and a large number of relatives and friends attended. |
