Show Will Make Trouble.-R. V. Morris, E-q. , who returned from the East on Thursday night, reports that the engineer of an eastward bound train had dashed through a band ot Indians that were crossing the Platte with their ponies, and a number of whom had got on to the track. Several Sev-eral must have been killed as the wheels of the engine and carriages were smeared with blood and hair The engineer could hardly have done other than he did, for the Indians were on the track, and when the train appeared they commenced yelling, which he might naturdly suppose was the preclude to an attack, and so crowded on steam and cut through then with. increased speed. But to the vengeful Indians, in their present unsettled state, it will be grounds enough for them to have blood for blood in pitiless raids on any whites who may be exposed to their merciless cruelties. Everything on the plains seems working together for a big Indian war. |
