Show HERD IMPROVEMENT ELECTS DIRECTORS The Franklin County Herd Improvement Im-provement association met last Saturday Sat-urday at the courthouse to hear the annual report from Supervisor Elmer El-mer Beckstead and to elect directors direc-tors for this. year. Directors elected were Alma Choules, H. R. Bingham, Lavor Doney, Arthur Moser, and Thomas Palmer. Ivan Loughary, extension dairyman dairy-man for Idaho, spoke on the importance impor-tance of a sound breeding program. In (hp afternoon session. Conntv Agent Chase Kearl presided over the general meeting, and Loughary spoke on feeding problems, pointing out that alfalfa hay is cheapest source of total nutrients and that Franklin county dairymen would find that they could produce practically prac-tically everything essential to a good balanced dairy; ration. The cheapest buttorfat is produced pro-duced on a good pasture, Loughary stated, illustrating his address with charts and figures. On February 17, Loughary will return here for a meeting to discuss dis-cuss the feasibility of a breeding program built around the s.ud bull plan. |
