Show PFUSA Members Oppose Draining Lake Powell: Will Support Page Effort Many members of Garfield County chapters of People For the USA (PFUSA) will be traveling to join Friends of Lake Powell as the organization rallies against radical environmental activists planning to demonstrate for the draining of Lake Powell. Members of PFUSA chapters from southern Utah and northern Arizona are planning to participate in a peaceful counter-demonstration which is being presented as "Celebrate "Cele-brate lake Powell Day" on Tuesday, Tues-day, Mar. 14 at Glen Canyon Dam. Friends of Lake Powell is an organization or-ganization dedicated to the preservation preser-vation of Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. "Celebrate Lake Powell" will be highlighted with a two-hour program pro-gram of information and activities . from 1 1 a.m. until 1 p.m during which time all businesses in Page, Ariz., have been asked to take part in a "silent protest" by closing their doors for one hour from 11 a.m. until noon to demonstrate the economic eco-nomic ghost town Page could become be-come without Lake Powell. Friends of Lake Powell learned that environmental extremists have planned a Flagstaff rally on Monday, Mon-day, Mar. 13 to promote draining Lake Powell, with plans to travel (See PFUSA on page 5-A) PFUSA From Front Page on Tuesday morning to Glen Canyon Can-yon Dam for a demonstration there to promote their cause to decommission decom-mission Glen Canyon Dam. A Friends of Lake Powell spokesman has said that the environmental envi-ronmental organizations involved in the Lake Powell effort promote some of the most radical agendas known to exist within the environmental movement. He said they have recently received funding to advance some of the most damaging dam-aging public land management ideas ever. Three of the most active grassroots grass-roots organizations are cooperating in a show of support for the preservation pres-ervation of Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Dam and the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. In addition to PFUSA members, members of Utah Shared Access Alliance (USA-ALL) (USA-ALL) will also join with Friends of Lake Powell on Mar. 14 at Glen Canyon Dam.
