Show Easter Seal Campaign Opened; Cerebral Palsy Benefit Plan ! The 20th annual Easter Sealjl campaign officially opened on Thursday, March 5, with Easter Seal letters having been mailed i to practically every Home in the state of Utah. The sale of Easter Seals is to help Utah's cerebral palsied children. chil-dren. The cost of treating and rehabilitating a cereoral palsied child could only be available to the wealthy, if not for organizations organiza-tions such as the Utah Society for Crippled Children, the official offi-cial Easter Seal agency in Utah, and sponsors of the drive. The Utah society makes no charges for services of any kind to the cerebral palsied. In addition addi-tion to therapy, the society furnishes fur-nishes crutches, braces, wheelchairs, wheel-chairs, splints, walkers and other equipment for people who can't afford treatment. This is all made possible through the sale of Easter East-er Seals. Of the contributions received, lover 91 per cent will remain in Utah to provide services for the cerebral palsied of this state. The remaining about eight per cent will go to support the nationwide nation-wide three-point program of research, re-search, education and direct service. ser-vice. "Utah's cerebral palsied children chil-dren need continuing services, expensive ones in these days of rising costs, so they can grow up to become self-sustaining adults," States Kenneth Roth, campaign chairman. "We are confident our citizens are going to meet our goal to help finance these services and to expand them to reach children not now receiving our help."
