Show Costume Ball A Success The costume ball given last Friday evening, March 15, by the Daughters of the Pioneers was a success in every way. James T. Wright, manager and John B. Miller, prompter, aided in making the event a success. Over 400 people, including special guests were present. Our pioneers- led in the grand march and splendid costumes representing repre-senting every decade from 1S47 to the end of the century, were in evidence. Ministers, brides, nurses, grandmothers, grandmoth-ers, negroes, Indians and everyday home folks, were among the impersonations. imper-sonations. Special mention should be given to Lottie Houston, Mary B. Fage, Nettie Warnick, Mat.tie Canham, James A. Nelson and Charles Holman for this feature. One could have easily recognized the late Dr. R. M. Rogers impersonated impersonat-ed by Isaac Canham, Elizabeth Brown by her granddaughter, Janet Mills, Maria ,Lim, by her daughter, Lurena Niclson, "Little" Mrs. Thorne by Ellen Cragun, Elizabeth Tomlinson by her daughter, Mary Yancy, especially espec-ially when stopdancing took place in the corner of the Hall. The "Minuet" was beautifully given giv-en by ten couples led by Miss Arvilla Clark, accompanied by Ruth Olpin. Then came the "French Four" and "dancers" danced with much pep and precision, coached by John B. Miller accompanied by old time musicians, Niels Poulson and Clarence Hilton.
