Show CANNIBALISM THEME OF JOSEPH PETERSON Cannibalism as an institution founded by deities- in ancient times was the subject ot: a paper presented to students iD Dr. Josem Peterson's class of ethics at the University of Utah vesterday. The pamphlet -was sent to Dr. Peterson by the American Society of Conciliation, founded recently re-cently in Philadelphia to start an agitation agi-tation against warfare as a means of settling' international disputes. The paper contained the argument of a savage chieftain of a south sea island in support of cannibalism, giving giv-ing as his reasons the belief that cannibalism can-nibalism was a God-made institution; that it reduced the high cost of living and aided the natural law of the survival sur-vival of the fittest. The argument was attacked by the students, who maintained main-tained that the custom provided rather for the survival of the unfit. |
