He served in the California San Fernando Spanishspeaking LDS Mission, and is employed by the Salt Lake Running Company. The couple will reside in Salt Lake City. Watt-Tanner Darrel and Colleen Watt of Layton are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Catherine Watt to Nathan Douglas Tanner. He is the son of Paul and JoAnn Tanner of North Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lund Thorstead of Huntsville. Parents of the groom are Gary and Linn Lund of Huntsville. They will hold a reception in their honor at the Huntsville LDS Church on June 2, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. Russell-Vause Brian and LeeAnn Russell of North Ogden announce the marriage of their daughter, Kim Russel to Dan Vause. He is the son of Brad and Sharon Vause of Eden. They were married Saturday, May 25, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A family luncheon was held in their honor at the Salt Lake Marriott Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Tanner The couple were wed Saturday, June 1, in the Bountiful LDS Temple. The bridegroom graduated from Weber High School and served in the Auckland New Zealand LDS Mission. Both are studying at the University of Utah, and will reside in Salt Lake City. Lyday-Ormsbee Mr. and Mrs.Daniel Vause The bride graduated from Weber High School and is a senior at the University of Utah. She is employed at the U of U School of Business. The bridegroom graduated from Weber High School and attended Joseph and LuJean Lyday are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Christy Lyday to Kenneth Ormsbee. He is the son of James and Betty Ormsbee of Eden. They were wed Friday, May 17, at the Bountiful Temple. The bride graduated from Layton High, and is a secretary at Weber State Institute. The bridegroom graduated from Layton High School and served an LDS mission to Germany. He will graduate from Weber State University this year, and currently works an accountant for Flying J. Pendergraft Clifford L. Ekins SALEM, Oregon Wayne F. Pendergraft passed away May 13, 2002. He was born March 6, 1915 in Charity, Missouri. After graduating from high school he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps where he had assignments in Missouri and California. He met Marvel Fuller in Eden, Utah, and they were married there Jan. 8, 1942. Wayne ran a dairy farm and did carpentry work in Utah before moving his family to Missouri, where he was a carpenter. He and his family then resettled in Northern California, where he worked as a general contractor, overseeing the construction of schools, churches, and other commercial structures. After semi retiring, he and his family moved to Oregon in 1968, where he ran a family farm and orchard, and did construction jobs for friends and family. Sharing time with family, attending sporting events, and fishing were some of the things that brought him great joy. He is survived by his wife, Marvel Pendergraft of Salem OR; daughter, Charlot Mills of Bellingham, WA; son, Bruce Pendergraft of San Anselmo, CA; son Scott Pendergraft of Salem, OR; sister Lenora “Snooks” Couture of Felton, CA; brother Warren Pendergraft of Auburn, CA; brother Don Pendergraft of Brighton, MO; sister Erma Jean Foreman of Cupertino, CA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Kenneth Pendergraft. HUNTSVILLE - Clifford Leon Ekins has gone hunting! He left on Thursday evening, May 16, 2002, from Ogden Regional Medical Center following cardiac complications. Cliff was born October 13, 1918 in Slaterville, Utah, the son of Clement Thaddius and Estella Peterson Ekins. He served his country as a member of the armed forces during World War II. Cliff was a talented welder and worked in the welding profession for many years. Cliff enjoyed many hours visiting with his friends at his Huntsville home. He will be missed. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Dennis L. (Vandi) Ekins, Westminster, Calif.; DeAnn (Roger) Barnson, Sandy; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Delour (Laura) Ekins, St. George; Bernice Creamer, Wildomar, Calif. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery. 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. |
