Show The Ogden Valley news Page 8 Volume XIV Issue XIII April 1, 2007 Weber County CERT Council Provides Summary of Minutes of Huntsville Town Opportunity for Refresher CERT Training Council Meeting Held February 20, 2007 This training will include a CERT hands on skills refresher exercise that is open to everyone who has completed the basic CERT course, or is in the process of completing the CERT course. Saturday, April 21, 2007 When: Location: Weber High School 430 W. Weber High Drive Pleasant View Registration: 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Time: Training: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. No Cost! Fee: The training will be conducted in two parts: Part I - Six modules will be offered in the morning session. Of the 6 courses offered, trainees can choose to attend 4. Training modules available: • Fire Suppression • Head to Toe • Cribbing • Triage • Search & Rescue • Bandaging Following morning classes, there will be a 45 minute lecture on the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS is used by fire and law enforcement officials to manage emergency operations. CERT members are part of the operation’s function, and receive directions from those officials. Part II - The afternoon session will give everyone a chance to be part of a Mock Disaster so they can try out their skills! Additional Information Lunch will be provided.
