Show SALE OF THE BLAIR MINES 4 bonanza tonopah To nev the good news was flashed over the wires from M L effinger in new york to dr E J bowes in tonopah To tuesday that the sale of the drinkwater mines at silver peak owned by the blair estate had been consummated in speaking of the transaction dr bowes said about a year ago a bond on this property was taken by effinger and myself after an exhaustive examination and sampling by james freeburn a very able mining engineer the property was submitted to flinn and oliver of pittsburg these gentlemen had the property examined by their own engineer phillip N moore of st louis missouri and our engineers report being verified negotiations were entered into which resulted in the sale of the property the ground consists of nineteen patented claims located eight miles from the town of silver peak as well as a mill and water right located at that place it has been operated more or less for the last thirty years by keisers leasers lea lei sers and has produced approximately mr effinger and myself have spent a considerable amount of money in these negotiations and we are pleased that they have proved successful it is the intention of the purchasers to start active development at once there is already approximately tons of ore in sight averaging 8 per ton besides this there are several big chutes of ore opened up carrying average values of 30 a ton which are not included in the general average of 8 per ton the mine will be at once equipped with the most modern machinery for the economical mining and treatment of its ores among the improvements will be a hoisting and power plant and the erbe erection tion of a large mill capable of handling several hundred tons of ore a day it is also their intention to construct a railroad from a point on the tonopah goldfield line to the town of silver peak it is supposed that this work will all be under the supervision of engineer moore who made the report on the property that resulted in its sale james freeburn will be resident engineer for the purchasers and will have full charge of the workings |
