Mrs. Ona Edgley presented the lesson and Mrs. Venus Skinner read a biography of the life of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Elizabeth. Caldwell Wallentine. Two piano solos were played by Miss Clixie McAlister. Mrs. Jennie Swainston and Mrs. Rae Hawkes were the county officers offi-cers present. Refreshments were! served. ENTERTAINS CLUB MONDAY EVENING The Fine Arts club held its meeting meet-ing Monday evening with Mrs. Al-lene Al-lene Allen as hostess. Miss Jessie Larson gave an illustrated' talk on the subject "What Is Modern Art Compared to the Old Masters." Refreshments Re-freshments were served. syringa'camp holds meet Syringa camp of the Daughters! of the Pioneers met last Friday; afternoon at the home of Mrs. Alice Merrill.- The lesson "Military! Forts of the West" was presented by Mrs. Stella Boothe. Mrs. Valeta Nash gave an interesting account of her trip to Cuba last July and The Wasatch Camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Annie Nelson. Miss Radia Smith gave a reading, Miss Bonnie Bon-nie Kirk accompanied by Miss Twila Smith sang a solo. "Military Forts of the West" was the lessen presented by Mrs. Lucille Stokes. Dainty refreshments were served by Mrs. Mary Stokes, Mrs. Annie Nelson, and Mrs.. Ellen Shipley. Mrs. Lettie Condie and Mrs. Annie Merrill, county officers each gave short talks. FRANKLIN BOARDS HONOR OFFICERS The M.I.A. Stake Boards of Franklin Stake entertained last Thursday evening in honor of Mrs. Graice Johnson who has resigned from the presidency of the Young Ladies Board, and George Stanger, president of the Young Men's board. The party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Tanner Tan-ner in Whitney. A hot supper was served under the supervision of Mrs. Tanner, Mrs. W. P. Shumway and, Mrs. Merle Chapman. The entertainment en-tertainment for the evening which consisted of a program and games was under the direction of Mrs. Thatcher Handley. A very enjoyable enjoy-able time was had. All board members and their partners were invited. showed pictures and souvenirs of the country, A large crowd attended. attend-ed. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Merrill, Mrs. Lois Goaslind, Mr. Terese Smith and Mrs. Olive Geddes. FAMILY -DINNER HELD AT CLAYTON HOME Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Clayton and Mr. andl Mrs. Arthur Dursteller entertained en-tertained at a family dinner in honor hon-or of Max Smart and David Clayton who will leave next week to fulfill missions. The dinner was held Monday evening at the Clayton home. Sixteen members of the families were present. The evening was spent in playing games and genial sociability. RACHEL PORTER CAMP HOLDS MEET The Rachel Porter camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers met in their regular meeting at the home of Anna Hillstead January 9. The lesson was on "Military Fords of the West" and was presented pre-sented by Josephine Lindsey. Mrs. Amy Kern read a sketch of the life of her grandmother, Mrs. Harriet Wright Shipley. Mrs. Emily Burgi and Mrs. Allie Packer entertained with musical selections followed by a lunch served by the hostesses Rae Hawkes. and Nellie Page to about 20 members.
