Show CORRESPONDENT AT INAUGURATION The president has been inaugurated (probably (prob-ably he is K't'tt'nS used to by this time) but the center of attraction was the display of national defense weapons. The parade did away with the traditional parade z. ressed-up, ressed-up, would-be militarists, their place was taken by tanks, machine guns, anti-aircral t weapons and the mechanized, quick-moving, military machines which go to make up the modern, up-to-the-minute, method of slaying the denizens of a country and throwing fear into the rest who are left alive. Xo longer does tht. army march 'on its stomach, it needs gasoline to keep it moving and who holds the source of that fuel holds the destiny of peoples. Then there were the areoplanes, your correspondent counted 176 of them, heavy bombers, medium weight bombers ana swift pursuit planes and while thev circled around there was a little plane, not'recogni-zable, not'recogni-zable, high above the rest taking in the sights from a reserved seat. Lots of people came to see this spectacle and everv room for rent in the city was full of visitors. |
