Show Make voice heard on campus police Students will have their last chance to voice their concern on campus security to the Presidential Committee on Campus Security Thursday at 4 p.m. in Union 312. The committee, organized at the beginning of the school year by University President James C. Fletcher to hear student and faculty complaints on campus security, and hopefully to resolve the problems, meet Nov. 22 specifically to hear complaints from interested students and faculty members. To the committee's dismay, no one showed up; the committee left the meeting wondering if there really was a problem. After considerable attention that campus police drew at the beginning of the quarter, the lack of enthusiasm now is disappointing. The Chronicle urges anyone who feels that perhaps some guidelines for security are needed or who has another viewpoint to express to come to the meeting Thursday to make known their views to the Committee. The Chronicle can only hope that those who want change can take 15 minutes to take advantage of an opportunity to get this change. |
