Friday's gourmet picnic for 'Nation's Defenders' to bestow honor 649th MUNS conducting inventory The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting 100 percent inventories of the base, Test and STAMP stockpiles from Sept. 1 until Sept. 30. During the inventories, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Staff Sgt. BY CATHERINE MCNALLY Hilltop Times staff T Commander's Cup golf tournament It's not too late to sign up for this year's Commander's Cup golf tournament, which will be held Sept. 7 at the Hubbard Golf Course. The annual tournament is sponsored by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah with proceeds benefiting the Hill Aerospace Museum. In addition to the tournament, professional golfers from the Nationwide Tour and from around Utah will conduct a golf clinic and participate in the tournament. Check-in starts at 10 a.m. with the golf clinic following at 11 a.m. The shotgun start will begin at noon, following by a social at 5 p.m. and awards at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $130 per golfer, which covers greens fees, a golf cart, food and prizes. The museum encourages fans to sign up as a friend and get up-to-date news and information on museum events and happenings. Postings occur two or three times a week. Though the picnic may seem like a small event in the wake of all that our service members do, it's important to realize that even something as small as a "thank you" can have an impact on those who serve.
