Show DISTRICT TEACHERS' CONVENTION SET SEPTEMBER 26-27 School teachers from Idaho Fit'lh and Sixth districts, numbering approximately ap-proximately 1500, will meet in Po-catello, Po-catello, Thursday and Friday, September Sep-tember 2G and 27, in joint conven. tion sessions. Over KM) teachers from the Preston City and Franklin Frank-lin county schools will be represented repre-sented at the convention, according accord-ing to word released by County Superintendent Welland F. Smith and City School Superintendent R. F. Campbell. In the past each district has held separate conventions but this year officials decided that if a joint convention was held it would give a better opportunity to obtain nationally na-tionally known educators for addresses ad-dresses ton pertinent subjects. AI Morgan, superintendent of the Blackfoot schools and president of the Fifth 'district, and Wilford W. Christensen, superintendent of the Idaho Falls schools and resident of the Sixth district, will work together to-gether in determining speakers. Sessions will be conducted in the Pocatello high school auditorium which seats 2200 with panel discussions dis-cussions slated for adjoining halls and meeting houses. One-third of Idaho's instructors will be present. Counties comprising com-prising the Fifth district are Bannock, Ban-nock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Oneida, Bingham, Franklin and power. Sixth district counties are Fremont, Fre-mont, Clark, Jefferson, Madison, Teton, and Bonneville. |
