Show 10th of April, 1897, having Very little pain. Ho had been confined to his home for a number of years, having lost his eyesight G yenrs ngo, thus having to be cared for by his family who performed this duty cheerfully. His 'spirit has flown to. meet his loved ones that have gone before. The funeral services were held in the St. George Tabernacle, April 18, 1897. Apostle Heber J. Grant and Anthony W. Ivins, president pre-sident of the Mexican Mission, son of Isrel Ivins, came from Salt Lake City to attend the funeral. funer-al. " Icrael Ivins was born at Tom's Iliver, New Jersey, May 19, 1815. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in on early day and went to Nanvoo. Among the many acts that he has performed among this people for the defence of Zion's Cause, may bo mentioned the winter spent in and around Echo Canyon, during the Buchanan crusade, when flour of the American Amer-ican Army was sent out to feed those who were sent to destroy a handful of defenseless people who surrounded by a host of Savage tribes of Indians,' in a wilderness, without sufficient food or clothing, and God showed such miraeulous power in saving.
