Show OCCURRENCES AT OAK CITY W. R. Walker, Representative (irest Improvements have been taking tak-ing place since the last writing. Peter Nlelson Is improving the nearby business busi-ness district by erecting a fine dwelling dwell-ing house. The walls are rapidly reaching completion under the able work of Mr. Wliford McLelllan of Delta. Mr. Icm Roper Is also preparing to erect a fine home on First Kust, and Kd M. Jacobson Is erecting himself a nice home one mile and a half south of town on his farm. Resides these there are a number of minor Improvements such as stables, barns, chicken coops and hog pens. About 40 of Oak City's population went to the circus at Oasis. The children chil-dren are still telling what funny things they saw. It Is no great feat for a master to gain the love and confidence of a dog so that he Is very unwilling to be left at home, tint to so train a chicken Is what has been done by L. C, Lyman of Ouk City. Mr. Lyman must have been reading to his chickens stories about dogs following their master under the wagon, but chickens had to Invent a new way of going as they could not keep up by running. When Mr. Lyman went to attend conference at Salt Lake the chicken wanted to go along, so climbed on the brakes under his buggy and there for 12 miles beat Its way, but as Mr. Lyman had to leave his buggy and take the train the poor fearful chicken was left behind. be-hind. Mr. John Q. The singing of Mrs. (Surley was fine. Mrs. Kd. M. Jacobson Is very 111 at this writing, but It Is hoped she will soon be around again. Willis J. Lyman was up from school Saturday. The young Indies are preporlng to have a fine time Friday evening In honor of their retiring president. Mrs. Mary Lyman. Everybody Invited. People are digging their potatoes and find a very short crop. Owing to the shortage potatoes are much higher this year. They are now selling sell-ing at 65 cents per bushel. The apple crop Is good. The present price for best grade Is $1 per bushel. |
