Mr. Palmer spoke in part as fol-ilm fol-ilm lows: Im "The best study of man is man. ''Ml TVlin hno atnllorl mon? ; "Three people. First, the minister knows his soul and spirit immaterial. immate-rial. Second, the physician knows 1 the physics. And I shall erroneously refer to him as a physic-an, because he knows physics and gives physics. ' Third, the chemist who knows his chemics. I "Whoever heard of a minister be- j ing asked to slate the physical composition com-position of the liver? He has nothing noth-ing to do with the physical. He thinks he can tell about the soul 1 where it comes from and goes to. "Where is the medical examining ! board who examines a budding doc-I doc-I tor to state the chemical elements of a human spirit? He has nothing i to do with the spiritual. He could, i though, tell ultra-scientifically all about the stridulous striations of sar- j torius scissor-leg. IYou have now, certain preconceived ideas, some of which were your grandfathers' You comte to see j whether I agree with you. It isn't what I think that counts, nor what you think that counts; it's what you ' think I think or what I think that you ! think that's construction. "The majority of people regard education ed-ucation in. theory as something that is always moving forward, upward; being broadened every hour and that there is much to be learned. In practice, prac-tice, though, the opposite is true. Education,- irrespective ot- subject, Is a sealed and closed book. Anything worth knowing is known; worth writing writ-ing has been written; worth thinking has been thought. This is vitally true with medicine, religion or politics. poli-tics. Let anyone come forth with a now theory of either one. What is the practice of the people the medical profession, the law, the church? Each on in its turn denounces, condemns, scathingly refuses even a decent and civil hearing. In theory they admit the room for improvement. In practice prac-tice they scorn, despise and hate. T oVvoll oncrim-i -Ml of Troll o fa lirirVl me as students, willing to see wrong changed. To understand ourselves we must know our bodies and minds to do this we turn to the science I of medicine. It was and is the pri mary Btudy of the existing state of our bodies, hence happiness only can come from it being mended better than it now is." Defines Chiropractic. Following these introductory remarks, re-marks, Mrs. Palmer explained Intimately Inti-mately the discovery and development develop-ment of chiropractic, using illustrations illustra-tions which gave intimate informa- tion to his auditors. He explained che relations of electricity to the human hu-man organism and said: "There Is the keynote of chiropractic. chiroprac-tic. It is but a conception, an understanding, under-standing, a knowledge that man is electrical; that his spine is the keyboard key-board upon which the chiropractor plays in adjusting the buttons which permits a liberated current to go to every portion of hiB anatomy, restoring restor-ing the abnormal man to a well man at 'your pleasure sometimes while you wait. We can but consider it, understand un-derstand it the best we can, and work with it. "Man has one Source-God, which we don't need know anything about though the knowledge would not hurt the majority; two diseases, two principles prin-ciples of retraction, 24 buttons to he adjusted and one way to do it. Does that neprf a superabundance of instruction and time? Anyone who can 'understand commercial electricity electri-city can be an apt student of human electricity; any man, woman or child who can turn on. electrical buttons can do as well for man. "The fundamental basis of chiropractic, chiro-practic, restoration, of currents by adjusting ad-justing spinal buttons and opening windows, is entirely different from the sciences of medicine and osteopathy. osteopa-thy. No medical or osteopathic examining ex-amining board have a knowledge of theart, science or philosophy of chir-opractic;"lhorefore, chir-opractic;"lhorefore, If we did apply to medical or osteopathic boards for a state examination on chiropractic, they would not give, it. They examine exam-ine on things they do not know, and to state they could or would is bigotry. bigo-try. No chiropractic uses any instruments, instru-ments, tables, medicines or other apparatus." ap-paratus." Second Talk by Palmer.
