Show Informal Garden Wedding Reception Held for Sgt. and Mrs. Barnum An informal garden wedding reception was held Saturday evening eve-ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Woodbury Jr., on Diagonal street, honoring Sgt. and Mrs. Andrew Barnum who were married at noon Friday in the St. George -Temple. President Pres-ident Harold S. Snow performed the ceremony in the presence of a large group of relatives and friends. The bride is the former Miss Delsey Woodbury, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Charles H. Barnum, both of St. George. Both are graduates of Dixie junior college. For the past several months, Mrs. Barnum has been chief clerk for the local ration board, which position she still holds. Before entering military service, Sgt. Barnum was employed em-ployed as stenographer for Attorney At-torney E. J. Pickett. He is now with . the personnel department at Camp Roberts, Calif, where he has been for several months. This is his first furlough home. For the reception, the bride wore her wedding dress, an empire model in white slipper satin, with extended train. The dress was entirely hand stitched by her grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mills, who is aged 83, and almost sightless. sight-less. The couple were unattended. A program of music, singing, readings and games preceded the serving of refreshments. Assisting with the reception were Mrs. Pratt Miles, Mrs. Mattie Ruesch, and the groom's mother, Mrs. C. H. Barnum. More than 100 relatives and friends attended. Sgt. Barnum will return to his post at Camp Roberts, and for the present, Mrs. Barnum will continue her employment with the local rationing office. |
