Show The greatest number of traffic traf-fic violation cases brought before be-fore the Duchesne Precinct Justice Just-ice of the Peace in 1965 was for speeding. Ninety-six of these cases were brpugnt before Judge Fred Pope the past year, as well as 49 cases of improper passing, 41 for not having a driver's license; 19 for having no safety inspection. Eighteen of the cases were for drunk driving. In another category, 17 cases of public intoxication in-toxication were brought before the justice court. Fourteen of the cases were for bad checks issued. Other cases listed in the justice court for the year are listed as 9 petit larcency, 8 littering highway, 8 driving on the wrong side of the road, 6 operating a motor vehicle during revocation or operating a motor vehicle during suspension of the driver's license; 5 vagrancy, 5 faulty equipment on car, 5 failure fail-ure to keep vehicle under control, con-trol, 4 reckless driving, 4 following fol-lowing the preceding vehicle too closely, 4 failure to wearing required spectacles when driving, 3 each grand larceny and fraud, 2 each, failure to yield right-of way, allowing another person to use driver's license, fraudulent use of license, driving outside limits of restricted permit, all i I allowing unlicensed juvenile to j drive. Ten persons failed to appear in court as summoned, and one "ran11 a stop sign. In the Duchesne City Court, eleven cases of speeding was brought before Judge Pope, one I person was cited for improper passing, 4 for having no driver's license, one for having no safety inspection, two for drunken driv ing, 19 for public intoxication, two for driving on the wrong side of the road, one reckless driving, five overtime parking, two indecent in-decent exposure, 3 illegal possession pos-session of alcohol. Total fines for the precinct, less the city court, for 1965 was $5, 230. The city fines collected collect-ed amounted to $830, the record rec-ord shows. |
