McGregor, motored !o Bancroft to watch the ball game THATCHER , -5 THATCHER A play was presented pre-sented at the Mound Valley ward last Wednesday night. The title was "Make Room For Rodney." The cast included the following: Milton Bennett, Reed McGregor, Howard Harris, Lenore McGregor, Margaret Margar-et McGregor, Wanda Harris, Wrells McGrc-'or, and Lorraine Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Garbett, Mrs. Adrian Callahan and William H. Mendeniiall attended funeral services op James Webster at Rex-burg. Rex-burg. Mr. Webster was an uncle of Mr. Mendenhall. Thatcher high scliool was defeated defeat-ed in a very exciting game at Bancroft Ban-croft Friday night. The first team was defeated 31-23 and the second team 27-19. Walton was high point man on the first team. Mrs. Ellis Wright has been ill for the past week in the Caribou hospital at Soda Springs. oi last v riuay iiiyui. Mrs. Murat Mendenhal has been ill for the past few days with influenza. in-fluenza. Donald Mendenhall, who is attending at-tending school at the USAC at Lo gan spent the week-end at home with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Garbett spent Thursday in Preston on business. busi-ness. Mrs. Garbett will be remembered remem-bered as Miss Vernona Mendenhall. The Lago ward M.I. A. will hold their annual Gold and Green ball next Saturday night. Ramona Ras-mussen Ras-mussen was chosen queen for the, occasion by a large majority of votes. A victory was scored by the Hornets Saturday night in a hard fought game with Lava Hot Springs on Thatcher's home court. The score was Thatcher 36, Lava 31. However Lava's second team walked away with honors with a score of 28-33. A clever stunt between be-tween games was presented by the 'Buzzer Pep Club," being worked out with a darkened hall with flash lights making the letters L.II.S. and T.H.S. Walton was again high point man for Thatcher. Mrs. Vernon Mendenhall has been il the past ten days from a heart atlack, but is on the improve im-prove now. Wayne Smith, Gilbert Nelson and Denny Andreason left for the mission home Sunday where they will be in training for ten days before departing for their fields of labor. Last Saturday evening Lenore McGregor and Lorraine Perry were the charming hostesses at a lovely farewell party in honor of Denny Andreason who leaves soon for the California mission. A nice time, was enjoyed by all. Don Smith recently returned from a trip to the Enslern States. On his return he drove back a new convertible coupe. A, nice party in honor of Gilbert N'clson was held in Cleveland ward last Wednesday night. Harold R. Smith, a recently returned re-turned missionary of the Cleveland ward gave a very interesling talk in Mound Valley wind Sunday, lie filled a mission in the East Central States.
