Show Sports Page 6 Thursday, November 9, 2006 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Fun and games Seventh and eighth grade students with good grades were rewarded with a end of the quarter field trip to the bowling alley in Ephraim last week. Students were able to bowl, play video games and have lunch. One seventh grade student said, "It's a lot more fun than class." Mark llenluie/Uuiintson Valley Uazette The annual hoop-shoot contest sponsored by Utah Elks Association was held this past week at the Gunnison Valley Middle School. Everyone that qualifies in each age category participates in the contest. The contest is ran through the PE department at GVMS. This year the school had a total of 165 students participating with 90 of them being boys and 75 girls. This years winners were first place Rylan Anderson and second place Lafe Christenson in the 12-13 year old boys group, first place Kasey Bartholomew and second place Yisel Perez in the 12-13 year old girls group, first place winner Colby Caldwell in the 10-11 year old boy group and first place Marina Cadena in the 10-11 year old girls group. These winners will represent GVMS at the region's hoop-shoot contest on December 2nd at South Sevier Middle School. Congratulations and good luck to these students. The Scouting Mews!
