Show Intermountain news. CHEYENNE, WYO. (Special Correspondence.) Cheyenne, March 14. Editor Intermountain Inter-mountain Catholic: On Tuesday, March 7, 1903, the February reports of the juniors were distributed in the school hall. These showed marked efforts on the part of the little ones to improve on last month's work, which gave much encouragement to their teachers. teach-ers. The first places in their respective respec-tive grades were secured by the following: fol-lowing: -- Second grade, Master John Blair. Third grade, Catherine Flannery. Fourth grade. Joseph Warlaumont.. Fifth grade, Mies Kate Barlow. Sixth grade. Albert Hibschwerlen. The afternoon's programme was well arranged and carried out. The musical musi-cal numbers were better than usual; but Catherine and Marearpt Walsh and Mary Ellis played especially well. Miss Ida Welsh gave a violin solo which showed faithful practice. Among the recitations, that of the Second grade gave much enjoyiyent to all. The programme was concluded by a; new Hymn to St. Joseph, sung by the Third and Fourth grades. The next day (Wednesday) the Seniors Se-niors held their monthly concert, and although the programme was rather long all did their parts well. The recitations reci-tations from the different classes were: "St. Martin and the Beggar," by Annette An-nette Keefe of the Seventh grade. "A Legend of the Pyrenees," by Gertrude Geddes of the Eighth grade. "The Gift of Tritemius," by Nellie Barlow of the First year, High school. "King Robert of Sicily," by Lillian McLaughlin, Clara Patterson and Sadie Sa-die Lynch, of the Second year. High school. All four were well spoken and furnished fur-nished a pleasant rest between the i different musical examinations. Those who supplied the afternoon's music were the Misses Georgia Sullivan, Mary Smith, Ethel Warlaumont. Bessie Marks, Mary Rice and Cora Davidson. A very interesting composition on "Dion and the Sibyls," was read by Miss Beatric Bresnahen. The reading and distributing of the reports, and a short admonition from the Reverend Mother about keeping Lent, well, and the necessity of earnest study every day, closed the programme. |
