CREATING NEW WEALTH. sources of this city are pretty well exhausted and there are no opportunities left for the young people who are growing up in our midst. Here is a little item of interest that was brought to the attention of the local Kiwanis club Monday by county agent Smith. The story relates to a demonstration that was carried on this season on two small plats of ground, one piece owned by R. T. Beagley was planted to Valencia onion. This crop of onions produced at the rate of 385 bushels to the acre, worth at the present price The other plat of $570.00. three tenths of an acre was planted to celery on the land owned by Jos. R. Price. The crop from this plat produced 1200 bunches of celery, or an average of $400.00 per acre at the market price.
