Show Longtime readers praise Clipper Dear Editor: Thank you so much for the enjoyment en-joyment we stih get out of reading our highly esteemed Davis County Clipper. It has to have been 50 or 60 years that this has been our privilege. The Clipper has kept good track of us and the rest of our South Davis inhabitants, in-habitants, very well thank you. Always timely and informative of the things that make life worthwhile. worth-while. Proof of that is when oir kids have moved away, they've kept in "touch with home" through the Cfppersubscriptions. Well, currently, I know we weren't singled out particularly in the March 28 issue. However we were delighted in seeing the special pages telling of two ladies who were bright spots among the Golden Years lunch time crowd for years. Ruby Olsen Lee and Margaret Van Orm. Margaret is celebrating her 100th birthday very soon. The full page spread of her picture garnered the bulletin board at the center. Interestingly, Inter-estingly, Margaret talked to those of us at her table March 29 of Ruby Olsen whom she enjoyed at the center for many years of riding the bus to pick up Ruby and seeing the ducks and geese and hearing Kuby talk of her wishes to give land for a new church. Mrs. Lee pointed out that the next page to her article had a picture of her friend, Ruby's dreams come true. That of a new chapel being dedicated on the West Bountiful farm she and Ruby had talked about. We daughters of Ruby's were thrilled that Mrs. Lee told us of those sweet ladies' friendship and dreams that have now been recognized recog-nized by your paper. Of course it is not news to us that our mother. Ruby, gave the acreage for the church and a recreation area. However, we were taught to "not toot your own horn," which we aren't doing. Nevertheless we, too, are grateful to our mother. Ruby, for her having given to the public so generously, not out of her plenty, which she didn't have, but of her love for her God and her fellowmen. Again, we want to thank the Clipper for their compliments (or tribute) to Joe and Ruby Olsen, be it ever so subtle, also to Mrs. Lee. Dorothy Olsen Servoss Lucile Olsen Servoss Bountiful |
