Crockwcll has favor d us with the following : Mothers nursing young babes should be very cautious about eating fruit heartily, or over-eating themselves, or over-heating their systems, sys-tems, or dabbling their hands much in cold water, as ?ny or all of these things will greatly affect their children, producing pro-ducing cholic, dysentery, summer complaint, com-plaint, cholera morbus, cholera infantum, infan-tum, canker. &e., especially at. this season of the year. At the first appearance ap-pearance of a derangement of the low-els. low-els. They should procure a piece of rhubarb, and brown it as brown as they would use coffee, and add to it equally as much by weight of black pepper, cinnamon, bayberry bark and phosphate of soda, all ground fine and mixed well, and give in sugar. Dose, one-sixth to one-fourth of a teaspoon-ful teaspoon-ful three times a day ; they will find this a nice preparation in all the first stages. If this does cot relieve in two to four days, it is because there is some fever or other complication, when they had better seek counsel. |
