The sequel to the dramatic disappearance and surposed murder of Theodore Devore, a govei n-ment n-ment trapper residing near McOammon, came yesterday when he was taken into custody at the home of his father-in-law, W. 11. Williams, in this city, on the. charge of being- a draft evader. Devote first came into puhliu notice last August, when he was charged with the theft uf two saddles a nd other property from ranchers in the vicinity of MeCanimon. A few days after his release, Dcvore's horse returned riderless to his home aivl the man's coat was found drenched V. blood and bearing two bullet holes, a searching party scoured the hills near McCammon in search of him and he was finally given up as dead, murder beinjj suspected. Nuthing was heard of Devore for four months, ufltil a phone cal! informed Sheriff George Ma boy that the man whs in hiding at the home of his father-in-law, south of town. Devore was f oniid by the officers secreted in a closet and was armed with two automatic pistols, He claims that he intended to commit, suicide rather than be taken into custody and has confessed to attempted evasjion of military duty.
