Show HUE Hi TO LIVESTOMEET HERE Large Attendance of Gem State Cattlemen Expected at Convention. An urgent invitation that the members of the Idaho Livestock association attend at-tend the comins: convention of the American Amer-ican National Livestock association in Salt Lake is being carried to the Idaho association by E. C. Parsons, who left" last nisht for Idaho Falls. Mr. Parsons, who is on the committee of arrangements for the national convention, conven-tion, which opens at the Hotel Utah, January Jan-uary 14, will be present at today's session ses-sion of the Idaho association and will deliver de-liver a formal inyitation to the Idaho men to rome to Salt Lake in full forc. It is anticipated that there will he a large attendance of livestock growers from the Gem state, as thrre will be a number of subjects of especial interest to the growers of this slate under discussion discus-sion at tbe national convention. Special rates of a fare and one -third for the round trip have been announced by the railroads for the convention in Salt Lake, and in view nf the fact that thin special rate will enable the stockmen stock-men to attend both the National Livestock Live-stock and National Woolgrowers' conventions, conven-tions, it Is an inducement which is expected ex-pected to draw hundreds to the two big conventions. 1 The Idaho sheepmen In a recent convention con-vention at Tloise pledged to attend the i two i-onventions about 1 HO strong; and it Is expected that more than this number of cattlemen from the Gem state will come to Salt Lake for the big conventions. conven-tions. Houston, secretary of the department of agriculture agricul-ture of the United States, has tentatively agreed to be present at the coming livestock live-stock convention and to make an address on the subject of co-operation between grazers and the forestry service. Officials of the association have been endeavoring to secure tbe attendance of Secretary Houston for some time and. while it" is not yet positive that he will attend, he is said to have promised to attend it' conditions in Washington will permit of his absence from his post of dutv there. |
