Show Leetoxi'Bennetf Mrs. Fern Houston Pioneer Dies In Salt Lake City The passing of Albert (Al) Rasmussen, 79. takes another of Bennett's pioneers. They were among the first to build in the townsite and rear a. family here. He died Friday morning, Oct. 16, at his home in Salt Lake City, his wife and two sons and eight daughters survive him. Garr Bolton took a truck to rPasadena, Calif, for the Geophysical Geo-physical Co. for which he works. He flew over the home of his parents on his way back to po,iinc Wvnmine. At present he is visiting at Tremonton, Utah with his brother, Raymond and family. Gary, Darrell, Mr and Mrs. Carl Hall, Mr. and Mrs. George Allred, and Dale Nelson went hunting Friday evening. Saturday Satur-day Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Allred came home with two fine deer but the men stayed longer. Margie and Arlys Rose Gardner Gard-ner spent the weekend with Beverly Long. The Singing Mothers spent a pleasant evening insong practice and visiting at the home of Mr and Winfred Long, Friday. Mrs. Nellie Horrocks spent Friday visiting her sister, Mrs. Grace Labrum, the occasion being Mrs. Labrums birthday. A party 'was given in Salt Lake for Mrs. Labrum, but Mrs. Horrocks could not attend. Keith Bowen and Delos Dye went hunting in the Strawberry Straw-berry areo. Always seems that the pasture is greener over the hill. But this time Mark Ober-hanslev Ober-hanslev and Myron Haslem hunt-, ed near home in the cedars and both got their deer the first morning. Mrs. Reva Hall, one of the cooks at the Alterra School, at- i tended the school lunch meeting in Vernal Thursday, and visited i her daughter, Mrs. Dale Nelson. School dismissed at noon Thursday and the teachers went from house to house taking school census. Considerable road work is being done in this area, the road is closed from the Church north one mile, the deer season slowed the work as the men all went hunting. Martin and Weston Hamaker anr families came" from Price and were joined here by Marvin. They all went hunting on Blue Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmston j joined with Mr. and Mrs. Miller I of Roosevelt and Mr. and Mrs. 1 Bill Morrison and .went hunting up to Greens Lake. Johnny Haslem is working at the Yellowstone Canal. He comes home over the weekends. |
