Show By HILLARY HUEFNER Hello! Have you noticed me? I am the recently installed cash register regis-ter between the two main lines in your cafeteria. Although I've only been here a short time, I have been very impressed .with the student body at Bountiful High I am re- minded of Dolly's advice to the stingy storekeeper in "Hello Dolly," Do-lly," "snuggle up to your old cash register. It's a little lumpy, but it rings!" Every time I ring and my drawer opens, I see a mighty Brave. This past week, the sophomores have especially intrigued me. Even when they are wearing their clothes backwards or baggy sweats, they seem to be dependable people. I mean, they were polite about having to move the assembly to the 24th of u February and the stomp they organized organ-ized was great. Those sophomores really are impressive. Did the girls' basketball team win yesterday? If they did, their record re-cord continues to be "undefeated." I am so impressed. I like it when the girl basketball players come through the lunch line because they always have so much energy. No wonder they keep winning! I wish I could go with you to their game here against East tomorrow and at Woods Cross on the 21st The state basketball tourrlament starts next week for the boys' team. I hope they do really well There will be a pep rally on Friday so that you can get as excited about the tournament as I am. Since the school play "Look Homeward Angel" is over, I have finally seen the faces of the cast members. Because their faces aren't buried in the script or disguised with stage makeup, I can really see them. All their frustrations about . memorizing paid off and the cast can be very proud of their achievements. achiev-ements. . 'f -A :7 ' I always know when : speech, drama and debate students come through the line. I can hear their voices above everyone else's when they argue about current issues or practice for tournaments like the Golden Spike meet this Saturday. If they keep bringing trophies home like they have teenjhis yeaiv the janitors might have to turn part of my . cafeteria into a huge display case. That would certainly give me something impressive to look at Just as I know when speech students stu-dents are coming through the line, I know when Mr. Dean's students are close because they are always singing. sing-ing. I hope that some of the music they make at Pops Concert on Feb. 28 and March 1 will float down to me. I'll bet that it will be so good that I will want to burst into blossom blos-som or ring like crazy. have noticed that there are always al-ways posters in the cafeteria. I look forward to seeing creative camr paigiTposters shortly after student body officer petitions come out on March 3. That, too, would give me something interesting to look at 'Maybe the administration has heard that I want something more to look at than a brick wall Red and gray tablecloths are being made by the home ec students and a canopy will be built over the burger bar and salad line. I don't' know what the canopy will be protecting the hamburgers ham-burgers from, but it will be interesting, interest-ing, v Thank you Braves for making me the proudest cash register in town! |
