Show The important question now is how much longer Spain can hold out in her hopeless struggle a-gainst a-gainst the United States. With the recent overwhelminjr defeats, with a depleted treasury, with a disheartened and discontented people peo-ple clamoring for a change it would seem that the hopeless st. uggle would soon be brought to a closeby the Spanish but we cannot tell. The belter counsel of many of J.he political leaders and friendly nations would urge such action but Spain is lonth to give up her colonies which she has held so long and which have furnished such rich revenues for her people. But the deeds of misrule, cruelty and dishonor are returning to her and she must succumb to the inevitable. ' It is another strong lesson which history his-tory teaches. |
