Crockett' entertained thirty-six gue- ts at j their home last Wednesday evening to meet and be entertained by El j der Robert Kirkham from Garland Utah. Elder Kirkham recently re turned from a mission to South Africa where he had been laboring uith Elder Quinn Crockett. Eldei Kirkham entertained with a very interesting lecture and moving pic. turns of South Africa. Several of the guests were out of town friends and relatives ol n.issionaries from South Africa. Light refreshments were served. Elder Kirkham reported that El der Crockett was well and doing very splendid work. PRESTON MAID WEDS MINK CREEK MAN Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Barrington h ive announced the marriage of t! eir daughter, Lenna, to Carl H. Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Christensen of Mink Creek. The ceremony was performed in the Logan .LDS temple Wednesday, October 2, in the presence of relations rela-tions and friends. Mrs. Barrington entertained at a trousseau tea at her home for the bride-elect. Lovely autumn flowers decorated the home thru-out. thru-out. She was assisted by the bride elect, the bridegroom's mother, ana his two sisters, Hazel and VaLora Christensen of Mink Creek. More than one hundred guests called during the receiving hours. The young couple will make their home in Mink Creek after their honeymoon to Salt Lake and southern Utah. COUPLE RETURNS HOME FOR SHORT VISIT Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Jarvis who were married August 24, at Montpelier, Idaho, returned last week for a short visit with relatives rela-tives and friends at Fairview and Smithfield, Utah. After their marriage mar-riage they took an extended honeymoon honey-moon trip to Yellowston park then slayed in Blackfoot, where Mr. Jarvis is employed. Mrs. Jarvis was formerly Miss Helen Choules, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Choules of Fair-view Fair-view and Mr. Jarvis is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jarvis of Smithfield, Utah. OFFICERS HOLD BUSINESS MEETING AND SOCIABILITY Twenty-three officers and class leaders met last Thursday afternoon after-noon at the home of President Flossie Merrill for a short business busi-ness meeting and an afternoon of sociability. Games and the exchange ex-change of "white elephants" caused caus-ed much merriment. The house was tastefully decorated with fall flowers. flow-ers. A delicious luncheon was served. serv-ed. CLUB ASSOCIATES ENJOY PINOCHLE PARTY A pinochle party was enjoyed last Thursday evening by club as, sociates at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ariel Neeley. A dessert luncheon lunch-eon was served to twelve. Mrs. Barley Handy of Brigham City was a special guest. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Don Greaves. Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Christensen visited in Salt Lake from Wednesday Wednes-day until Saturday. BRIDE-ELECT HONORED AT KITCHEN SHOWER Miss Venice Bright, bride-elect, was honored at the home of Mrs' Emma Bingham of Linrose last Thursday afternoon when forty lady friends were invited to a kitchen kit-chen shower. A jolly afternoon was spent after which a delicious luncheon lun-cheon was served. Many useful gifts were received. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Bingham were Mrs Ida Nash and Mrs. Ruby Nash. |
