Show HIRSCHI ELECTED I.E.A. PRESIDENT School teachers from thePres-ton thePres-ton city and Franklin county school systems returned home last Saturday Sat-urday from a successful two-day convention of the Fifth and Sixth districts of the Idaho Education issociation held Thursday and I -tlay in Pocatello. Highlighting the convention in-sol', in-sol', as loci! interests were, concerned con-cerned was the election of L. Edwin Ed-win Hlrschi of Preston as president of the Fifth district association for the coming year. He succeeds A. W. Morgan of Blackfoot. Other officers elected were C. H. Bond oi I Pocatello, vice president and Mrs. ! Frances Gray, assistant Bannock ! county school superintendent as i treasurer. Mr. Hirschi will later appoint the district secretary. Practical things ideas which teachers could begin to practice Immediately were stressed thru-oot thru-oot the joint conference, and instructors in-structors readily agreed that the 'convention objective had been realized "in good measure." Built around the theme of unification uni-fication of educational processes, the conclave was addressed by lour of the nation's outstanding educators; Dr. Frit Redl of the University of Michigan, Drs. Paul Witty and Howard Lane of North western university at Evanston, Illinois, and Dr. Derwood Baker, Boulder, Colo., superintendent of schools. o o |
