Show FORMER SPRINGDALE BISHOP ANSWERS DEATH CALL Springdale, September 22. Former Form-er Bishop Thornton Hepworth, 62, pioneer of Dixie died at his home here Sunday afternoon of hemorrhage hemorrh-age of the brain. Mr. Hepworth was born in Wyoming, Wyom-ing, Neb., July 14, 1864, coming to Utah with his parents as a boy and soon after settling here, where he has since resided. He married Elzina Jane Draper, Jan. 30, 1884, who died 28 years to the day previous to him, Sept. 19, 1898. The following children survive sur-vive by this marriage: Mrs. Malin-da Malin-da Bennett and Mrs. Marilla Croff, He married Edith Lewis Jan. 2, 1901 who' survives with the following children: LeGrand, Percilla, Nola and Phillip Hepworth and Mrs. Emily Em-ily Francell, Springdale; Mrs. Cam-b'alina Cam-b'alina Millett, Cedar City. He served as counselor to Bishop O. D. Gifford of the Springdale ward 19 years after which time he was chosen bishop which position he held 13 years having been released about a month ago. |
