Show Public Health A total of 337 cases of communicable commun-icable diseases vas reported to the Utah State Board of Health for the week ending June 20. This is 142 cases fewer than were reported re-ported for the previous weel: and 143 cases fewer than were reported report-ed one year ago. Only 4S cases of German ucas- les were reported this week as compared wit 127 cases for the previous week this increase in number of cases of German measles meas-les is largely responsible for the reduction in the total number of communicable diseases this week. Two cases of Rocky Mountain spotted fever were reported, one from Sevier County and the other from Sanpete County. The patient from Sevier County, a school boy 8 yars of age, is reported to have died. The patient from Sanpete County is 52 years of age, and his occupation is listed as "farmer and sheepraiser." So far this year 6 cases of Rocky Mountain spott-ed spott-ed fever have been reported from various setions of the State and 3 of the patients are reported to i have died. The average fatality rate from Rocky Mountain spotted spott-ed fever during the past ten years in Utah has been approximately 20 per cent. Only two cases of scarlet fever were reported, this is the fewest number of case3 to be reported for any one week this year. "No diseases" were reported from Cedar City and Richfield nor from the following counties. Box Elder, Daggett, Grand, San Juan, and Weber. Other communicable diseases reported are as follows: chicken-pox chicken-pox 110, influenza 1, measles 17, mumps 17, pneumonia 10, scarlet scar-let fever 2, tuberculosis 6, whooping whoop-ing cough 87, gonorrhea 2, syphilis syph-ilis 7, and septic sore throat 2. r |
