Show I DISASTROUS RUNAWAY I Team Still Running With Dynamite On Board American Fork Dec 9This morning morn-ing J L Parker Lorenzo Anderson and H M Wells started from Parkers ranch a mile northeast of town to make a trip to their mines in American Fork canyon They had hardly left home when Anderson got out of the wagon to let the horses drink and took off their bridles to let them have more freedom They soon became frightened and < away they went at an alarming speed with Parker and Wells in the wagon which was covered Parker was the first man to light on terra firma and just as his feet were dangling dang-ling near the earth the wheels went into a rut the wagon gave a lurch and the iron strap on the endgate split his nose wide open inflicting a painful wound Wells was carried about 75 yards further The boys consider their escape as miraculous as they had a box of dynamite dyna-mite on board and were expecting to J be blown into eternity any moment 11 I The team was still running when last I heard from II I NEWS NOTES J Mrs Hannah Wagstaff an aged blind I lady of this rplaee who died at the asylum at Provo was buried here yesterday yes-terday afternoon Miss Edith Christensen has gone to I California to = spend the winter i Thomas Featherstone lost a little boy at 5 oclock yesterday morning of pneumonia The funeral was at the residence of E H Bdley this afternoon after-noon I |
