The grand prize winning Arbor Day poster will be printed for distribution to schools and Earth Day celebrations throughout Utah. Regional winners will be recognized at region Arbor Day celebrations in Brigham City, Richfield, and Vernal. State winners and the grand prize winner will be invited to participate in the state Arbor Day ceremony on April 27 at Jackson Elementary School in Salt Lake City. School registration will be accepted through February 28. Earned income credit reduced for military personnel Credit must be calculated differently this year, reports David Peterson, district manager for the Salt Lake City H&R Block office. Last year (1988 tax return) the credit was based entirely on W-- 2 income. This year (1989 return), earned income must include the Basic Allowance for Basic (BAQ) and the Quarters (BAS) Allowance for Subsistence received by military personnel.
