WE ARE PLEASED with tile reception and results The Bulletin's Bul-letin's editorials are getting. It is our sincere wish to be of real benefit to the people of the Southeast area. If occasionally we make a mistake in our statements, state-ments, or if our stand proves to be wtrong, we will not hesitate hesi-tate to correct it Several important im-portant things have taken place because of an initial impetus given to them because of Bul-etin Bul-etin editorials, however. A MERRY TIME was had by the kids in Sugar House last Tuesday when a valve on a city water main broke and flooded the intersection of 21st South and 11th East. Kids on bicycles swished through the hub-deep waters and others enjoyed en-joyed walking in it. A few motorists mo-torists seemed to enjoy spraying spray-ing the pedestrians as they went through the intersection at the usual speed. MORE FAN MAIL was received re-ceived this week on our editorial edi-torial which was recently reprinted re-printed in the famed Christian Science Monitor. Gladys F. Shinn of Detroit, Mich., sent her congratulations for our editorial, the last line of which was: "Cigars and liq-quor liq-quor don't go with success!" Then she said: "I wish there were more newspapers and magazines which would take this stand in helping out with clean advertising and clean living." IT WAS GOOD to see Sugarite Karl Ebmeyer last week. He brought in some news about his relatives which you will read elsewhere in this issue. It's the first time we've seen Karl since he owned and operated Eb-meyer's Eb-meyer's Bakery, where Jarnel's now stands. We had a pleasant chat on "the good old days." PLEASANT GUY is the word we have for Cecil A. Crockell, former superintendent superintend-ent of the Sugar House post office, now with Walker Bank. Mr. Crockwell has furnished us with some historical information infor-mation on the Sugar House Rotary Club which we will publish very shortly. He al- |
