Show Gunnison Observes Christmas Daj; The Christmas spirit was truly am reverently displayed In Gunnison am happiness and good cheer were the dominant features throughout th( two days' celebration. Sunday Christmas day, was devoted to de votional exercises at the Relief So clety hall. At 10:30 in the morninf the Sunday school gave a progran: which proved highly Interesting. Ir addition to the several numbers given giv-en Py the different classes there wen several selections of appropriate Christmas music. Santa Claus was also there and gladdened tho hearts of tho children with a generous supply sup-ply of candy and nuts. In t lie afternoon another Interesting Interest-ing meeting was held. A selected quartet sang several selections of Christmas anthems and Arthur Larson Lar-son gave the Christmas address. Mr. Larson dwelt at length on the Christmas Christ-mas spirit and impressed upon his hearers the importance of the day. The storm prevailing during the afternoon aft-ernoon prevented many from attending attend-ing the exercises, but those present were highly pleased. Monday was generally observed by the business houses. The banks, postofflco and all the stores remained closed all during the day. Family dinners and private parties were numerous, nu-merous, and In the evening many attended at-tended the dance given at Peterson hall and at Centerfield. |
