MISSIONERS FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH, 1941. March 10, 1941. The Hoard of County Commissioners Commis-sioners met this tlay ill regular session ses-sion for the month of Match, 1941, tho Chairman, Henry II. Rawlings, Commissioners Frank Shrives and A. 11. Nash, and the Clerk, C. L. Swenson, being present. Mr. Lester Atkinson, of Franklin made application for exemption of taxes on the basis of his being a disabled veteran. He was referred refer-red to the Hoard of Equalization at their next regular meeting. Mr. Dee Nelson applied for a reduction re-duction In taxes. It was ordered that the Interest be cancelled on his taxes provided the balance of the amount duo is paid immediately. immediate-ly. Mr. Myron Nuffer made application applica-tion for the superintendent's position posi-tion for the Weed Control for 1941. Messrs. Larry Robinson and Le-land Le-land Chattel-ton met with the Board unci discussed the matter of County printing. Mr. Howard Hall applied tor an exl ension of time and an adjustment adjust-ment of taxes on property belonging belong-ing tol his father. March 11, 1941 The Board of County Commissioner Commis-sioner met from recess of Match 10, 1941, all members present. Mr. Austin Taylor asked for an extension of time on his contract with Franklin County for the purchase pur-chase of tax deed property until March 20. It was ordered that he be given an extension and that a payment of $100 on the contract on I that date would be sufficient. The application of Mr. Cyril Whittle for a reduction in taxes was refused and it was ordered that the tax bill as now due be reduced re-duced 50 per cent. A discussion of the County legal printing was had and it was moved mov-ed by Commissioner A. B. Nash that the county printing be put out upon bids. The motion was not seconded nor voted upon. Mr. Nash explained that his motion was made due to the fact that there are two papers now eligible eli-gible for county printing and that as a matter of economy the printing print-ing should be bid upon by the two papers, aud that the Bid now on file made by the Franklin County Citizen of 50c per inch, should be considered, and that he objected tc any other method of handling county printing. Mrs. Merideth Booker, In behalf of the Parent-Teachers' association, asked for assistance in traveling expenses for the band, orchestra, and choir of Preston high school! The matter was taken under advisement. ad-visement. Mr.; J. A. Paton took up the mat-! ter of making a full time job of the probation officer's work of Franklin county and receiving re-munatioa re-munatioa for a full time position. The matter of re-classification and re-valuation of the taxable property in Franklin County was discussed and action withheld until more information can be obtained. The matter of hospitalization of county patients was discussed and held until further investigation. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ward of Treasureton was a recent visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tiff Campbell. A social was held at the home of Mrs. Elsie. Rasmussen in honor of Mrs. Violet Weeks. Twenty-rive guests were present. Bunco formed the evening" entertainment followed follow-ed by a lunch. Ranger Dabby of Malad was a business visitor during, the week. Jim Anderson was a Weston visitor vis-itor Thursday. Mrs. Melvin Allen spent Friday and Saturday in Malad visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Draper has moved to Downey where Mr. Draper Drap-er is employed. Jessie Griffith who is attending school at Logan spent the weekend week-end at home. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Pitcher of Logan were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence-Merrill. It was ordered that Mr. Artie Henderson be appointed as Road Overseer of Clifton precinct.
