W:i-:.-".- & Thursday, Friday To Pioneer gridders travel to Uintah ; hope to prove first win no fluke ' By TRACY WILSON Football players from Lehi High School will make the long trip to Vernal Friday to return the favor of playing the Uintah Utes as they did just three weeks ago. This time, though, it is not just for practice, but counts toward the league record and a possible playoff spot for the young Pioneers. In the earlier game, Lehi scored 35 points in the first half, and Uintah scored 26 in the second half. Lehi will not be so careless this time around. It appeared that two different teams played the first contest. Although Lehi won, it was not necessarily a pretty sight. This time also they will be with-- i out the services of Chad "Jake Smith. Smith sprinte"dB6yardsoir the opening kickoff at home when the Utes visited Lehi. Last Friday he was hurled to the turf at Wasatch High School at the end of a kickoff return to end the first half and suffered a hip pointer which will sideline him for at least another week. Another possibly questionable starter in the Uintah game could 220 pound be Chris Bailey, defensive end and tight end. Bailey suffered a bruised sternum in the Wasatch contest. He will probably be ready, but time will tell. Lehi made their best offensive showing against the Utes, who have yet to win a game this year. The Pioneers had 154 yards through the air and 7 1 yards on the ground. i -- - w- t Saturday only!
