Show i A NOTABLE WEDDING The Marriage of Miss Zane and Doctor ITitcher It Was Solcminizod at the First Congro national Church Last Evening Six Hundred Invitations Issued The most nobbie wedding of the season was solemnized at the First Congregational Congrega-tional church last evening the contract ing1 parties being Miss Margaret Zane and Dr John Witcher son of Major Witcher SlX hundred invitations had been issued is-sued and by 8 oclock the church was well filled A bank of potted plants stood before the organ while white ribbons stretched along the sides of the pews ornamented or-namented the aisles and made a pretty effect The ushers were Messrs W J Lawrence Law-rence Ed Witcher WillSmealey George Westervelt George Nye Grant Hampton Clarence McCornick Henry McCornick B G Smith and Graham Putnam Preceding the ceremony Professor Bad cliffe played a march by Wely Larghetto Lar-ghetto from Beethoven second symphony sym-phony and Leibsleid by Herselt Finally the familiar strains of the wedding wed-ding march from Lohengrin followed by the bridal chorus from the same heralded the approach of the bridal party The groom arid best man John Maxcy Zane accompanied by Dr Clarence Clar-ence Brown passed from the church parlors to the altar and waited to receive the party First came the ushers They were followed by the maid of honor Miss Sara Zane cousin of the bride who walked alone She was I followed by the bride leaning on the arm of her father The bride looked charming in white bengaline silk trimmed with satin folds and mousselaine de sol made en traine She wore diamond ornaments and carried car-ried a large bouquet of brides roses Along A-long tulle veil caught by a pearl pin Completely enveloped her form The maid of honor wore white luisiene with garniture of lace and pink roses Her gown was also en traine Mr Brown read the marriage service in an impressive manner and Chief Justice Zine gave the bride away Through the ceremony Professor Badcliffe played Traumerei softly and with beatttiful effect and at its close while the bridal party was passing cut he played the JL wedding march from Midsummer r Nights Dream by Mendelsohn The bridal party at once proceeded to the home of the brides parents where a wedding supper was served the relatives of the newly wedded couple being the only guests elegant The bridal gifts were numerous and Dr and Mrs Witcher will be at home after September 1 at No 41 Canyon Road Roadhe The young people are both prominent in the society circles of this city and have the best wishes of a host of friends |
