Show Countywide Survey Will Assess Health Care Status PANGUITCH Garfield County residents will soon receive surveys soliciting their opinions on various facets of the health care delivery system in the county. Garfield Memorial Hospital, in conjunction with the Utah State Department of Health, is evaluating the health care delivery system in the region and the potential of becoming classified as a Critical Access Hospital. Part of the effort involves soliciting feedback from local residents regarding their perceptions of the local health care system. The surveys will ask respondents re-spondents to assist in determining what is and is not working related to health care. ' The Critical Access Hospital is a designation that allows rural public or nonprofit hospitals to receive cost-based reimbursement for Medicare patients if the facility meets certain federal criteria. Within a couple of weeks, a survey will be mailed to Post Office Boxholders in the hospital service area. Recipients should complete the surveys and return them in the envelope provided. The surveys will be mailed directly to UHA, Utah Hospitals and Health Systems Associations in Salt Lake City. All responses will be confidential. confi-dential. The surveys are part of the effort to improve health care in the area and the survey sponsors express their appreciation for the public's cooperation. |
