Their months of preparation resulted in a truly “horrifying” experience for a Next on the program was Christian Rodriguez who amazed everyone with his drum solo, especially since he doesn’t even own a drum set. Other members of the band included Christian Rodriquez, Drake Loud, and Mack Jenkins. Everyone had a great evening with dinner catered by the Hearthside. Thanks to the PTSO for all they did to make this event a success. Also, a big THANK YOU to our generous sponsors and those who supported Snowerest by their attendance that night. Funds generated by the event are earmarked for the school’s music department. Parents—Students Invited to Kindergarten Round Up Valley Elementary junior scientists. were approximately 800 students involved at the Golden Spike Fair Grounds. Interesting projects were submitted in the following categories: Behavioral Science, Earth and Space Science, Botany, Math and Physics, Zoology, Chemistry, and Microbiology. The sixth graders from Valley all participated in the school Science Fair. Out of these Students, 24 were selected to move on to the District. The sixth graders spent many hours preparing their displays and presenting to the judges. Each student had to make a triboard display with information about a scientific experiment. Every tri-board had to have a problem, hypothesis, conclusion, a set of data, materials that they used, results, procedure and a title. Each experiment was judged at least 3 times. The students learned a lot from their experience. Abby Froerer, whose project dents of Valley Elementary did a super job representing their school. They were courteous, well-behaved, and had terrific projects. The award ceremony was held at Roy High School on February 15. The following earned first place: Vienna Froerer, Kelsi Tatton, and Austin Lee The second place projects were: And Nelson, Stratton Neilsen, Ross Bassett, Wayne Young, Beau Hart, Talia Barnes, Sierra Crockford, and Wesley Poulson. Third place students were: Miranda Calder, Abby Froerer, Alex Poulson, Roxanna Hedges, Hannah Hedges, Hayden Schenck, Riley ss a Thomas, Colton Pack, and HaylieH Six deserving ius will continue on to the region competition that will be held on March 19 at Weber State University. Great job Valley students! again it is time for Kindergarten Round Up at Valley Elementary. This year it will be held April 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. This meeting is for all children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2007 and their parents. If you have a child who is eligible for kindergarten this fall, and you have not received a kindergarten packet, please call the school at 452-4180, or come in and fill out a registration paper and pick up a kindergarten cket. It is important that you receive this packet as soon as possible so that you can make all necessary doctors’ appointments for your child. Your child’s original birth certificate will be required for enrollment. It is important that we have an accurate count of kindergarten students to ensure that we have the proper amount of classes in place for the coming school year. This process begins early in the spring, so please register your kindergarten student toda Any student who was not of kindergarten age for the 2006-2007 school year and who wants to enter first grade for the 2007-2008 school year, will be assessed at Valley Elementary for developmentally age-appropriate academic, social, and emotional skills. If your student attended an alternate kindergarten because they missed the cut off date for public school last year, please contact the office. We would like a written recommendation from your child’s current teacher as to his/her grade placement. As a team, the parents and Valley Elementary staff will review all data.
