Show NEWCASTLE Br Norma Christensen Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christensen, Christen-sen, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and three children went to Salt Lake City last week. The Alonzo Chrlstensens went to attend a Utah Soil Conservation Conserva-tion meeting, and the Boyd Chris-1 tensens went to visit with Nor-ma's Nor-ma's sister and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Christensen. They also Journeyed northward to Brlgham City, to visit Norma s grandmother, Mrs. Albert Weaver. Wea-ver. Mr. and Mrs. Herman McCarty and two children, Te.-ry and Deb-ra, Deb-ra, and Hermar'i father, Jim McCarty, and Mr. and Mrs, Trus-ten Trus-ten Hart and two daughters, Valerie Va-lerie and Brenda, went to Glen Canyon and Page, Ariz, on Sunday. Sun-day. Miss Bonnie Clark, daughter of Mrs. Roberta Clark of Cedar City, was out visiting her grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt, and also Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt. Clair Hulet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hulet, traveled to Pleasant Grove last week with the Dixie High School wrestling team for the state Class B meet. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Christian of Ploche, Nev., were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Tullis last week. Mrs. Geneva Gillies went to Cedar City Friday and spent the . day with her daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Kumen (Nalda) Gardner. Then Saturday, she and her son, Kenneth, went to Las Vegas on business and to visit with her children there, Ka-therlne, Ka-therlne, Bonnie and Fred and their families. They returned home Sunday night. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart. Jr.. were Shirley's sister and her family, Mr. and Mrs. DeMolne Sorenson of Cedar City. There were quite a few of our townspeople attending the Jim Bond Show Saturday night in the Escalante Valley Community Hall. The scenery and pictures were Just beautiful. A dutch lunch was served to everyone after the show was over. Mr. and Mrs. ivieivin Kuiei aim family went to Washington last week" to visit Melle's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Neilson, and help Mr. Neilson celebrate his birthday. birth-day. Jack Tullis was home from CSU last week-end visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs Sterling Ster-ling Tullis. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt, was Low Prince, Boa's father, and Lyle Prince, Eea's brother, from new Harmony. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet went to St. George Sunday afternoon, after-noon, to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet, who are both 111 with the flu. Mrs. Verue Sandstrom and her three children from Provo. were here last week visiting family and friends. They brought Scott Tullis home. Scott has been staying stay-ing In Provo with Verue, and In Salt Lake City, with his brother, Jerome Tullis and his family. Scott plans to stay here for awhile and Is grong to try to go to the CSU spring quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Beach-am Beach-am and four children from Cedar City, were out here over the week end visiting their family, Mrs. Effie Boacham. and Mit Beacham, and their friends. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Tullis and family from Enterprise were here Sunday visiting their family fam-ily and friends. David Tullis Is home from Las, Vegas for a few days. He and Mary went to Salt Lake City, where Mary will receive medical attention. Her back has been botherlnT her very much lately, and they are hoping that a sup- port or brace on her back will prevent an operation. ! There are a lot of rumors and, excitement around town ahout the old Holt Silver Mine out near, the point of the mountain re-j opening. There have been a num- ber of people In town Inquiring about hntise to rent. Leo Kneil haa rented his home and Sherman Sher-man Beacham has rented his house That means that Leo and his family will be moving away very soon. We surely hate to see anyone leave town, as we need everyone we can get to help out In the town and ward. |
