ROMA CARLTON Phone 169-K Mrs. Harold Vernon and daughter daugh-ter Bonnie spent last week-end in Salt Lake City and Ogden, visiting visit-ing relatives and friends. They returned re-turned to Milford on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Osborn p.nd daughter Fawnette, of Cedar City, spent Sunday at the home of their sister, Mrs. Roy Bradshaw, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Edwards of Manderfield was in town last Friday Fri-day to see the operetta at the grade school. They remained in Milford over the week-end, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Alma Sly. Mr. and Mrs. Roldo Turner have moved into their new brick home on North Walrus street. Thurland Sly returned to Cali-ipqt- Wp;"Jni'f He had been snending the past four days in Milford with his wife and son, . Russell. David Reese and Walter Johnson John-son have gone to Cedar City, where they will work for a week on the Cedar City local. Calvin Thompson and Joy Rogers returned to Milford Sunday night after spending the week-end in Delta. Mrs. Josephine Thompson and small grandson Larry Bentley, of Lujunga, Calif., are in Milford for an indefinite stay with Mrs. Thompson's children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schrahm, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson. Mrs. Hazel Steenbock received the sad news last week of the death of her niece, Mrs. Gertrude Garrett, in Baker, Oregon. Mr. Glenn Barnes received the sad news last Saturday of the death of his mother at Eccles, Nev. Glenn went through Milford on the streamliner from Lynndyl last Saturday night. Mr .and Mrs. O. A. Steenbock motored to Provo on Friday, where they attended the wedding of Mrs. Mrs. Steenbock's nephew, Dennis Fuller, and Miss Betty Tanner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Tanner. The wedding took place Saturday at the home of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Steenbock returned to Milford Sunday night Last week several parties were given in honor of Mrs. Bess Coon. Tuesday night Mrs. Letty Foth-eringham Foth-eringham entertained two tables of pinochle. A lovely evening was enjoyed by Mrs. Coon, Mrs. Mar-veil Mar-veil Connell, Mrs. Metta White, Mrs. D. A. Baxter and Mrs. Mildred Mil-dred Coon, with Mrs. Bess Coon winning high prize, Mrs. White, consolation. A dainty lunch was served at 1:30. On Wednesday Mrs. D. A. Baxter Bax-ter was hostess at a lovely luncheon lunch-eon in Mrs. Coon's honor. Others present were Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, Fother-ingham, Mrs. Lottie Bardsley and Mrs. Mildred Coon. On Thusday nighlt Mrs. Metta White was hostess at a delightfully arranged bridge party. Honoring Mrs Coon were Miss Norma White, Mrs. Melba White, Mrs. Ella Edwards, Ed-wards, Mrs. D. A. Baxter, Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham and Mrs. Mildred Mil-dred Coon. High prize was won by Mrs. Bess Coon and consolation by Mrs. Edwards. A dainty luncheon lunch-eon was served at 11:30. Howard Lund has been confined to the Milford Hospital for the past five days, but has returned to work now. Mr. and Mrs. Kimmell Coon received re-ceived word this week from their son Blair in Washington, D. C, that he expects a discharge on June 15. For the past eight months he has served on the USS Pocono. Mrs. Bess Coon returned to her home in Compton, Calif., Saturday, after spending six weeks in Milford at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kimmell Coon. Mrs. Julia Griffiths returned to her home in Greenville Wednesday after spending some time at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Reese. |
