Bishop J. N- Lal" sent performed the ceremony. Following the wedding the young couple was entertained at a party. They left immediately on a honeymoon honey-moon trip. Rook was the diversion with the high score prize going to Mrs. Annie Davis and the low prize to Mrs. Maud Hansen, At 6:30 dinner was served at a long table centered with a bowl of colorful fruit. Place cards were set for 12. FINE ARTS CLUB HOLDS MEETING The Fine Arts club met last Monday Mon-day at the home of Mrs. Oneta Forsgren. Miss Lucille Woodruff Wednesday afternoon at her home. The time was spent sewing and sociability. so-ciability. A delicious luncheon was served to eighteen. The Relief Society residency were also guests. LINROSE RELIEF SOCIETY HOLDS BUSINESS MEETING The work and business meeting of Linrose Relief Society wn3 held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ruth Stevenson. After the sewing session refreshments were served. China and Mrs. Marian Condie reviewed re-viewed the book 'Burma Road" by Nicol Smith. Mrs. Blanche Hol-lingsworth Hol-lingsworth was a special guest. Dainty refreshments were served. FIRST WARD YOUNG PEOPLE HOLD FIRESIDE The "Fireside" pjrogram given by the First ward M-Men and Gleaner Girls was attended by an enthusiastic group. Weldon Nash gave an illustrated talk on his trip to Cuba and group singing was enjoyed. en-joyed. The M-Men and Gleaners from the Third ward were special guests. PRESTON TEACHERS HOLD INITIATION PARTY An initiation party for the new teachers of the Preston schools was held last Thursday evening at Downata. The lunch and entertainment enter-tainment as well as the program was arranged by them. Each new teacher individually presented one or more numbers on the program to make him eligible for membership member-ship to the group. All showed enough talent as well as good sportsmanship to satisfy the old members. After a short business meeting a program was given in the form of a shower giv. en in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Gay-lord Gay-lord Schwartz, newly-weds. Mrs. Schwarlz was formerly Miss Edith Weaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cilbert Weaver. The honor guests received many useful and beaut: ful gifts. They are going to malto their home at Los Angeles, California. Calif-ornia. Other guests from Los Angeles were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dandrige and Dr. and Mrs. N. Dinner was served at 2 SYRINGA CAMP HOLDS MEETING The Syrihga camp of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers met last Friday afternoon with Mrs. Juanita Roe as hostess. Musical numbers were a piano solo by Mrs. Perry Morgan, Mor-gan, accordian solo by Miss Leona Britenbeker and vocal solos by Mrs. Viola Alder and Mrs. Roberta Taylor. Mrs. Roe read a sketch of the life of her grandparents, Mrs. Mary Christine Lorenztson. "British Contribution Con-tribution to Utah" was the subject of the lesson presented by Mrs. Grace Spongberg. Mrs. Spongberg added local color to the lesson material by adding personal touches touch-es from her own acquaintance with some of the people studied. County officers who were present pres-ent and spoke were Mrs. Nancy Jones and Mrs. Maggie Preston. SECOND WARD HOLDS DELIGHTFUL SOCIAL The members of the Second ward enjoyed a delightful social last Friday evening at the ward recreation recrea-tion hall. A program was given and light refreshments were served serv-ed followed by dancing. A large crowd attended.
