TACK SHOP LAYTON A tack shop that provides supplies for show or pleasure horses has been opened by a Layton woman whose interest in horses led her from a hobby to her own business. Barco Supply is located at 708 Antelope Drive, formerly the Harris Dairy building. The shop is owned and operated by Barbara Gooding, of Layton. Mrs. Gooding said that, as she would travel to horse competitions and shows, the need for a supplier equipped with awide variety of tack items became ap- parent. She decided to begin such a service and would fill her car with the items as she would travel to the competitions to . show her own horse. As the demand on her products increased so did the space needed to transport her tack and soon she found she had to pull a trailer. Her business continued to increase until she decided to open a retail store so that she v- could supply customers. Mrs. Gooding sajd that her shop would handle all horse care usables and tack for show and pleasure horse owners, ' Her shop will also feature a section for the sale of used tack, including saddles, riding suits, boots, and other related items. A speciality she will feature will make it possible for customers to special order costumes for show horse competition including the native Arabian costumes. She will sell saddles, both western and English, show halters, saddle suits, saddle pads, grooming aids, and all other related horse items. She will also feature a line of silver accesso- .
