Show Ute Swimmers Prepare For WAC Title Defense Ute swim coach Don Reddish is thriving on material today as he waits for the January opening of the regular season with 10 returnees from last year's conference championship squad. Back from last year is Captain Steve Schultz who won two events last season and was on a winning relay team. He holds, conference marks in the 200-yard individual medley, the 400-yard individual medley and the 400-yard freestyle relay team. Schultz was total points leader in last year's meet. Also back is last year's number two point getter in the WAC and triple record holder Pete Churchill. Kim Bernard and Dave Dixon, number three and four in the WAC will both be back in the Ute tank. Bernard holds two individual indi-vidual records and a relay mark and Dixon holds one of each. Larry Paffelli, fifth in conference last year holds records of three marks and will return with Steve Smith who holds a fourth of the 400-yard relay record. In all, Utah holds 13 in 15 conference marks and those Utes holding 1 1 of those will be back this year. Also point getters last year, back for '65 are Mike Hewitt, Tony Nelson, Ken Hill and Mike Sweeney. |
